Installing SZapp

How do I install SZapp on my device?

Apple Devices
  1. On your device, open the App Store.
  2. Search the App Store for SZapp.
  3. Download and install SZapp.

  2. Search the App Store for SZapp.
  3. Download and install SZapp.

Are there any costs for downloading SZapp?

No, SZapp is completely free to download and use!

Managing Schools & General SZapp Information

How do I add a school?

  1. Select your school’s region.
  2. Search for and select your school.
  3. Choose which group/s you would like to receive notifications from.

Note: Schools and Groups with a padlock symbol next to them require a 4 digit passcode. See your school for this passcode.

How do I add multiple schools?

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left corner
  2. Tap Add Subscription.
  3. Select your school’s region.
  4. Search for and select your school.
  5. Choose which group/s you would like to receive notifications from.

How do I register?

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left corner
  2. Tap Login or Register.

You can register using the following methods: Email:

  1. To register with email, tap Create account.
  2. Fill out the Email, Passcode, First Name and Last Name fields and tap Signup.

Once you have registered, you can login with your email and passcode.

How do I switch between schools?

  1. Tap the menu button in the top left corner
  2. Select which school you would like to view.

How do I pick which school displays by default?

If you have subscribed to more than one school you can pick which school you set as your default. Each time you open up SZapp, this will be the school that displays.

  1. Tap on the Manage tab.
  2. Select the Default Subscription switch.

How do I change which groups I am subscribed to?

You are able to add or remove which groups you receive notifications from at any time.

  1. Tap the Manage tab.
  2. Select the group/s you want to add/remove.

How do I disable notifications for a school?

  1. Tap the Manage tab.
  2. Unselect Push Notifications.

How do I remove a school?

  1. Tap the Manage tab.
  2. Select Remove Subscription.

Troubleshooting SZapp

Why can’t I find SZapp in the App Store/Play Store?

If you are having trouble finding SZapp on the App Store/Play Store follow these steps:

  1. Double check your spelling, type SZapp into the search field.
  2. Check that your device is connected to the internet.
  3. Check that your device is supported by SZapp. See Supported devices below.
  4. Restart your device and try again.

Why can’t I find my school?

If you cannot find your school, confirm that your school has been setup in SZapp and that you are searching in the correct region. If the problem persists please contact your school.

Why can’t I add my school?

User Registration

Your school may have opted to restrict access to SZapp to only registered users. This allows schools to send targeted communications to parents. Before you are able to add your school, make sure you have registered.

Your school may have opted to restrict access to SZapp. Schools with a padlock symbol next to them require a 4 digit passcode. See your school for this passcode.

Why am I not receiving any notifications?

If your device is not receiving notifications follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you are connected to the internet.
  2. Check that you are subscribed to the correct groups.
  3. Check your device settings to make sure notifications are switched on for SZapp.

What if SZapp crashes?

If you experience a crash, un-installing and re-installing SZapp should resolve the issue. If not, try the following:

  1. Tap and hold on the App icon, then click ‘App Info’
  2. Tap ‘Force Stop’
  3. Tap back and then tap ‘Permissions’, ensure permissions for ‘Storage’ are enabled.
  4. Tap back and then tap on ‘Storage’. Tap ‘Clear cache’ and then ‘Clear data’.

How do I check my SZapp version?

You can check your SZapp version by following the below steps:

  1. Open SZapp
  2. Press the ‘Burger Menu’ in the Left Hand Corner
  3. Your SZapp version will be listed at the bottom of this page

You can check your SZapp user details by following the below steps:

  1. Open SZapp
  2. Press the ‘Burger Menu’ in the Left Hand Corner
  3. Your SZapp user details will be listed at the bottom of this page
